So, what exactly is Kinkalot, and where has it been all my life?Kinkalot is a Merlin porn fest created to fill the void left by Pornalot, which was run by the much-loved Polomonkey from 2016–2018. Pornalot was itself designed to follow in the footsteps of Summer Pornathon, which ran from 2009–2015. In 2018, Polomonkey decided that Pornalot would be coming to an end, so when it came to 2019, we found ourselves asking: “Is it really Merlin fandom without a porny, kinky summer fest?” Obviously not! And thus, Kinkalot was born.Kinkalot celebrates both our love of Merlin and our love of porny fanworks. It runs over the course of August, with the aim of being a short, fun, kinky fest for the entire Merlin fandom (we ♥ you, Merlin fans!).Please note, we are running the amended 2024 bingo format again this year! Though with a few twists…You mentioned that you are not running the traditional Kinkalot fest again this year, so what is happening/different about it?Unfortunately, due to other commitments the mod team are unable to run the event in its previous form for 2025.We know that some of you will be disappointed as you were looking forward to participating in the fest again, or perhaps for joining in for the first time. We apologise for this, but never fear!As we did not want to leave you all hanging with regards to a summer of kinky fun, we are bringing back the Kinkalot Bingo challenge for you all.This year, we will be offering a number of different challenge formats:
* Individual challenges, where you choose the square size that works for you. You can complete as many, or as few squares as you’d like. No pressure!
* Team challenges, where you form your own team of friends and work together to complete a 5x5 square.The aim of this event is to challenge yourself to create new works, and to join together to enjoy a summer full of porny Merlin fun!What is Kinkalot Bingo, exactly?Kinkalot Bingo is a spin-off from one of the events run during the traditional Kinkalot fest—we will be running it under the Kinkalot banner and social media accounts.This year it will replace the previous fest form and will be run as a challenge where you sign up to receive a bingo card full of spicy prompts with the aim of creating a mature/explicit rated fanwork for each prompt. You mark off your squares on your board and try to get a bingo. Or, if you’re feeling particularly industrious, a blackout!Sounds good! How do I sign up?First, check that you meet the following requirements:+ Due to the nature of the fest you must be over 18 to sign up. No exceptions.
+ While it's not required per se, we strongly encourage fest participants to join the Kinkalot Discord server so that you can have fun socialising with other Merlin fans as you create and cheer each other on! If you don't already have an account, or you're new to Discord and aren't sure how things work, please contact us via [email protected] and we'll help walk you through it.
+ If you wish to participate as part of a team, you must choose one person to fill out the sign-up form and provide contact information (username / discord handle / email) for the whole team – and be sure to check out the rules regarding teams!If that sounds good to you, then head on over and put your name down when sign-ups open on 12 July 2025!Okay, I can do that. But how will Kinkalot Bingo work?The fest will run throughout the month of August.Sign up through our Kinkalot Bingo Sign up Form by 26th July to guarantee you will receive your bingo card on the first day of the fest. Sign ups will continue to be open throughout the fest, but there may be a significant delay in receiving your card if you join after the official deadline or after the fest has already begun due to mod availability.The day the fest starts, you will receive a individual bingo card of the size of your choosing (3x3, 4x4 or 5x5) if signed up as an individual, or a team card if you are part of a team. All cards will have randomised kinky prompts from our master prompt list. No individual card will be the same. Each team member will receive a copy of their team card.Once you receive your card, you can start creating straight away.The fest is self-posting, so please post your fills to the AO3 Kinkalot 2025 collection here and share your work in the #prompt-fills channel in the Kinkalot Discord server (18+ only) using this format:Title:

Link:Once you have posted your work, you can mark the prompt off on your card. It is up to you to keep track of your fills.I’m curious about the team card. How will that work? What are the team rules?+ Teams will be self-formed. This means you must get the group together yourselves; there will be no assigned teams and no mod involvement. So make sure you will get along with your chosen team mates!
+ You can have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 people per team.
+ Please make sure you have agreed on your team BEFORE you sign up, as people cannot be added after you have signed up.
+ Teams will receive a 5x5 card by default+ For teams, a minimum of 5 fills/squares must be completed per team member.
+ If there is a prompt that all of your team find too challenging, then you can request to change a maximum of 2 prompts from your card. However, you must contact us within 24 hours of receiving your card. Please assign only one person from the team to contact us to avoid confusion.
+ You cannot sign up as an individual AND be part of a team.
+ All other rules as written apply to the team / team prompt fills.Sounds good. What kind of fanworks can I submit?Pretty much anything you like! Fanfic, fanart, podfic (so long as you have the original creator’s permission), manips, fanvids, whatever you like. If it’s Merlin-related, kinky, and Mature- or Explicit-rated content, it counts.So, what are the rules for the fills?Your fill must be Mature/Explicit-rated and include some level of sexual content. It IS kink-prompt based fest, after all.- FANFICTION: Minimum 500 words, no maximum, though do remember you only have a month to fill up your card! We recommend aiming for around 1500 words and hoping for the best. 😂
- ART: At least 1 completed drawing. Comics/sequential art may contain any number of panels, but as mentioned under fanfiction, it is worth bearing in mind you will only have a month to create for the fest.
- ART + FIC: A completed drawing and as many words you like.
- MOODBOARDS: Minimum of 9 images, no max. One third of these should be NSFW and your moodboard should depict at least one character/actor from the show. If you’d like to write a caption to accompany it, feel free!
- MOODBOARD + FIC: Minimum of 4 images, no max. Should contain NSFW content, plus at least 1 image of a character/actor from the show. As many words you like.
- OTHER: If you’d like to create a fill for a format not mentioned above, feel free! So long as it's Mature/Explicit rated and contains some sexual content.Each work should be able to be consumed one it's own as an individual work. If you chose to make a chaptered work then it will only count for 1 fill.I can’t create for a prompt on my card, what should I do?Whilst we hope that everyone will give all the prompts on their card a go, even if they feel challenging, if there is a prompt on your card that you really cannot create for (i.e., you find the prompt triggering or traumatic) please let us know via email at [email protected] within 24 hours of receiving your card.You can request to change a maximum of 2 prompts, We will amend your card with another prompt and give you your updated card as soon as we are able to, though please understand there may be a few days delay in doing this – we encourage you to work on your other prompts in the meantime.Are there any no-gos for this fest, kink-wise?Nope! We are all about KINK SAME, NOT KINK SHAME here at Kinkalot Towers.If it gets you hot under the collar, then it’s all good. Nothing is too weird for this fest. You want to write your own Merlin version of the infamous Hogwarts Squid/Hogwarts Castle fic? Have at it! You want to art your favourite Merlin characters getting a good seeing to with a carrot? Perfect. You want to write about Merlin in lingerie being tied down and enjoying a good fucking by anyone who passes? That’s good too! It's all good.Your kinks are your kinks and there’s no judgement here. Just remember to include relevant content warnings where appropriate so that people who are not Kink Same can curate their own fandom experience. Thank you!I'm not very kinky. Can I still participate?Of course! If it turns you on, then it's kinky enough for us. However, don't forget that your fills must be Mature-rated or higher for sexual content; this is a porn fest, after all. You will also need to make sure you incorporate the prompt you're filling in some way, although how far you go with the kink is up to you. Though we do encourage you to try new things and expand your comfort zone, if you're so inclined!I’m not too worried about creating many fills. Is that okay?Yep! Absolutely. Though if you cannot commit to the minimum fill requirements for the team card, we encourage you to sign up to receive your own personal card, where you can choose which squares you want to fill and how many you want to aim for. Perhaps you want to aim for a bingo line or perhaps you want to cherry-pick your fills, or perhaps you want to challenge yourself to complete a full blackout. You choose your size, and you choose how many prompt you wish to fill. Either way, you're welcome to do whatever makes you happy!I’m not interested in signing up as a participant. Can I still join in in some way?Absolutely! You're welcome to join the Kinkalot Discord server (18+ only) to chat in the common room areas and check out the amazing fills while the fest is ongoing, they will be self posted on our AO3 collection here.I've signed up for all the things/have other projects due this month. What kind of time commitment is required for the fest?That’s entirely up to you! If you are working on your own individual card, you can create as many or as few fills for your card as you like. If you are part of a team, you will need to be sure to fulfill your team requirement.What happens if I need to drop out?Nothing at all. This year we are running a more relaxed challenge aimed at encouraging more kinky Merlin content for us all to enjoy without the competition element.Can I submit an old WIP to fill a square on my card?If you just so happen to have an old, unfinished WIP lying around which fits one of the prompts on your card and you feel compelled to finish it, that’s fine as long as you meet our other content requirements (format, rating, etc.).Can I crosspost with another fandom event?Yes, though we do ask that you ensure that your fill meets the requirement of the prompt on your Kinkalot Bingo card.Can I use more than one prompt in a fill?Yes, but the fill will only count for one square.Will anyone be checking our fills?Nope. This is an honour system. So try to be like Lancelot, the noblest of us all, and whatever you do — don’t be like Agravaine!I don’t understand a prompt on my card, what should I do?We don’t provide a fest-specific glossary, as many terms have grey areas that are open to interpretation and for Kinkalot Bingo we want to allow people to feel free to interpret as they feel fit.
